MANILA, Philippines – Did Derek Ramsay and long-time girlfriend Angelica Panganiban get hitched in South Africa where they spent their one-month vacation together?

In his “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon” interview, Ramsay maintained that there is no truth to that rumor.

“It’s not easy to get married in a foreign country. We both have different citizenships. There’s no truth to that,” he said.

And although many were anticipating a marriage proposal at least, Ramsay said it was not part of his plan when they flew to South Africa to watch the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

“There was no plan for a marriage proposal. We didn’t actually talk about that. And ‘yong maganda ngang nangyari sa amin doon, hindi kami naging mechanical. We just enjoyed [our time together],” he said.

He noted that before their trip, they were not able to spend more time together because of work.

“There’s no truth na nagpakasal na kami. We just enjoyed and bumawi kami sa oras. Hindi kami nagkikita bago kami umalis, bumawi kami doon,” he added.

The actor also brushed off rumors that they broke up during their trip. The rumors surfaced after they reportedly arrived here separately, but Ramsay quickly denied this.

“Sabay kaming dumating ni Angel. I don’t know where they’re getting that from. We were all in the same flight. The whole group, wala kaming iwanan,” he said, adding:

“Si Angel, she was in the country lang for 6 hours. She had to leave. There’s no truth to the break-up. She just left Ireland [and] she’s on her way to Scotland. She’s on a tour. Meron silang show doon kasama niya si John Lloyd [Cruz].”

Ramsay said Panganiban will be back in a week and a half.

Some people were wondering why Kim Chiu didn’t have any intimate scenes with Carlo Aquino in their Maalaala Mo Kaya episode where they played a young married couple a few weeks ago. Apparently, she’s not yet ready to be daring when paired with leading men other than Gerald Anderson. “Nung nabasa ko yung script, nagulat lang kasi ako na may intimate kiss e hindi pa ako handa.Charing! But speaking of experimental love teams, Kim recently met Aljur Abrenica who happens to be one of the stars from ABS-CBN’s rival network. The young actor was reportedly very eager to get to know Kim at the time. When asked if she would be willing to work with Aljur, she said that she has no problem doing a future collaboration but only if ABS-CBN approves of it first. “Trabaho din naman yun. Now that she is back in the outside world, Shey Bustamante is ready to prove all the nasty rumors about her wrong.  While she was still a part of Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash of 2010, there were stories going around that she is not actually 17 years, not a native of Mindoro, and is a party addict.  In an interview during the rehearsals for PBB: Unite at the Big Night, Shey calmly denied all of these.  “I’m only 17 talaga.  Pero I consider it a compliment na sinasabi nilang mukha akong hindi 17. Sa ugali ko, nagpapakatotoo lang ako.  Ang meron lang kasi ako eh tapang.  Sa loob ng bahay sinabi ko ‘yung nasa isip ko.  Naging voice ako ng karamihan.”


She added that she is really from Oriental Mindoro and that she has been living in Manila only since last year.  “Since last year dito na talaga ako sa Manila nakatira.  Nag college kasi akoand magisa lang ako dito, wala akong kamag anak sa Manila.  Taga Oriental Mindoro talaga ako.  Kahit ipagtanong niyo pa ako dun sa Victoria.  Rachel Bustamante, kilala ako dun.”

There also had been pictures published online showing her in a club drinking and smoking.  Although she confessed she had tried going to clubs, she denied she got addicted to the life of parties.  “Kaya naman ako napasama sa mga gimik kasi when I joined Bb. Pilipinas at ‘yung Mossimo Bikini Summit, nakakilala ako ngfriends.  Nagulat nga ako na meron palang mga bars at disco dito sa Pilipinas akala ko sa States lang.  Ganun ako ka mangmang talaga.  Nayayaya lang ako sa mga clubs pero sandali lang.  Hindi ko rin nagustuhan.”

Though unlucky to be part of the Big Six, Shey has another reason to be thankful over her PBB stint, and that is the chance to meet her Australian father who she had never seen since she was born.  “Nagkita na kami kaya sobrang saya ko.  Sa una hindi ko alam ang gagawin ko kasi hindi ko naman alam ‘yung feeling na may tatay.  Ngayon napapadalas na ‘yung pagkikita namin.  Sa Makati siya nakatira.  Gusto niyang ipagpatuloy ko ‘yungstudies ko.  Siya raw ang sasagot ng tuition ko. I’m happy kasi at least I don’t have to work that hard na tulad ng dati.”

MANILA, Philippines – After John Lloyd Cruz’s revelation about his relationship with Shaina Magdayao on “The Buzz” last week, it was John Prats’ turn to a tell-all interview with Boy Abunda on the talk show on Sunday.

Prats revealed he was informed about Cruz’s exclusive interview on “The Buzz” while he was doing a show in Los Angeles, California.

When Abunda asked him about his initial reaction when he learned about this, he replied: “Wala akong naging reaction. Hindi ako na-hurt, hindi ako nalungkot, parang wala lang sa akin.”

He said he does not expect everyone to believe him. “’Pag nagmahal ka all-out, lahat ibibigay mo. That’s why siguro nandirito rin ako ngayon kasi wala akong regrets. Lahat binigay ko, lahat ginawa ko.”

Though rumors about his break-up with Magdayao have circulated late last year, the former couple kept silent about it. Prats told Abunda that he and Magdayao broke up in November of last year.

“We had a fight and then nag-start lang naman kaming cool off ganyan, but we never saw each other after that,” he said.

He admitted that he had a difficult time dealing with the break-up.

“Mahirap kasi when you wake up in the morning and wala kang tinatawagan to say good morning to and I love you. Bago ka matulog siya. ‘Yon ang mahirap, ‘yong adjustment period,” Prats shared.

He did not deny the fact that he still misses Magdayao and her family.

Among his past relationships, Prats said his relationship with Magdayao was the longest, which lasted for almost 3 years. He also thought that he would eventually marry her.

Prats also confirmed Cruz’s previous statement that they both talked over the phone.  He also clarified that he has no ill feelings toward Magdayao’s new boyfriend although there was a point when he did.

“Gusto ko talaga move on lang tayo happy na tayo. Whatever they say hindi na mababalik [‘yong relasyon],” he said.

“Alagaan niya si Shaina at alam ko naman aalagaan niya,” he added.

Prats also said he is fully enjoying his single life now.

After days of silence regarding her marriage, actress-TV host Kris Aquino admitted she has given up on her marriage with basketball superstar James Yap.

In an interview with The Buzz’s Boy Abunda, Aquino said her decision was not made in a spur of the moment.

“On my part, with finality, I can say ako ay sumuko na,” Aquino said.

Reports of their troubled marriage came out after Aquino shared in her Twitter account that she and James are going through a “difficult time” and problems in their married life remained.

Two days later, Kris suspended her Twitter account.

Following the proclamation of her brother Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III as the president, she also announced her decision to leave her showbiz-oriented talk shows The Buzz and Showbiz News Ngayon, which she co-hosted.

She did this to avoid any controversy and issues that could affect her brother’s administration.

James Yap, who recently visited President-elect Aquino in his Times Street home, has yet to issue a statement regarding Kris Aquino’s latest revelation.

During the airing of her revelation on TV late Sunday, Kris Aquino was among the top topics on Twitter, as it was among the top Trending Topics.

MANILA, Philippines – There is no third party.

Comedy Queen Ai Ai delas Alas made this pronouncement Wednesday when asked if there was a third party involved in the latest Kris Aquino and James Yap’s marital issues.

In a press conference for her upcoming television series, “M3: Malay Mo Ma-Develop,” Delas Alas also said Aquino, one of her close friends in show business, has not returned to the house she shares with Yap.

“Sa pagkakaalam ko, hindi pa. Pero i-pray natin na magkaayos sila,” she said.

It was the comedienne’s hairdresser who broke the news to her. When she texted Aquino, she said her friend was not yet ready to talk about the issue.

“Parang ganoon, [hindi third party]. Pero sana ay maging maayos. ‘Yong hairdresser ko ang nagsabi. So, nag-text ako at sabi niya, ‘Tsaka na lang tayo mag-usap’… Siyempre sinabi ko sa kanya, ‘Friendship nandito lang ako,’” said Delas Alas.

Delas Alas also refused to interfere, saying she would leave it up to Aquino and Yap to solve their issues.

“And natuto na ako na ang away mag-asawa, huwag tayong makialam kasi away nila ‘yon. Hayaan natin sila ang umayos ng problema nila. Nandito lang ako para suportahan si friendship. And kaibigan ko na sila pareho. Bati na kami ni James,” she said.

In the middle of the controversy involving Yap and Hope Centeno, a receptionist who claimed to have had an affair with the professional basketball player, Delas Alas had joked that Aquino should send Yap back to his mother.

Yap did not take her remark lightly. He fired back and told the comedienne to watch her words. “Ayusin mo pananalita mo, hindi ka nakakatuwa.”

Aquino admitted that the Comedy Concert Queen’s remark had caused many quarrels between her and the star player of B-Meg Derby Ace (formerly Purefoods).

Delas Alas later apologized to the basketball player.

Months later, Delas Alas and Yap had ironed things out, and are now good friends.

With the recent controversy, the actress-comedienne is praying that the couple can overcome their trials soon.

New ‘dramedy’

Delas Alas is now busy taping and promoting her first television project with King of Romance Drama Aga Muhlach.

In “M3,” she portrays the character of Kring-Kring, a “jologs” single mother who is ready to take on anything to give her son, Marcus, a better life.

In the story, Kring-Kring will meet commitment-phobic JM Benicio III (Muhlach), a 38-year-old handsome, diligent, successful real estate developer.

Megan Young, Jojo Alejar, Niña Jose, Jairus Aquino, Mika dela Cruz and Noel Trinidad are also part of the show, which will air starting July 3.

“M3″ is under the direction of award-winning director Jeffrey Jeturian.

First day at school

Delas Alas is also attending a class at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City. She is taking up public administration and governance, a 4-year course, as part of her preparation to join the world of politics in the future.

It is Delas Alas’s dream to help her kababayans in San Luis and Calatagan, Batangas.

During her first day at school on Monday, many of her classmates, some of whom are lawyers, Congress staff and foreigners, were reportedly starstruck by the actress.

Meantime, she also urged all mothers to go back to school.

“Sana po doon sa mga nanay na medyo malalaki na ang mga anak, puwede kayong mag-aral. Kasi nakaka-uplift ng moral ng mga nanay na bumabalik tayo sa eskwela. Para mayroon tayong ibang alam na magiging proud sa atin ang mga anak natin,” delas Alas said.

Delas Alas is a Mass Communication graduate from Far Eastern University (1985). She also took up a culinary course at Center for Culinary Arts in 2007.

After almost 5 years of marriage, the high profile couple, host and actress Kris Aquino and professional basketball player James Yap is facing another marital woe. It was on June 16 when Kris first admitted in public through her Twitter page that she and Yap had a “big misunderstanding.”

To quote Kris’ tweet, she stated: “To answer one of your tweets regarding james. We went through a difficult time during the campaign — stress & long hours led to a big misunderstanding. I have never lied to all of u- until now hindi pa completely na-fi-fix. That’s y I’ve just chosen to keep quiet since it’s something very private. “

Stress and long hours spent during the campaign period took a toll on their relationship, Kris, the lead star of ABS-CBN primetime soap opera “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo,” said.

But Kris didn’t want to elaborate more on this tweet and said: “Huwag na lang, nag-tweet na ako, eh. Nagtanong lang naman sila sa akin kung bakit hindi ko binabanggit si James, and sinagot ko lang. The question was ‘how come all the tweets are about my children. ” So, sinabi ko, we had a misunderstanding and up to know, hindi pa naaayos. Ganu’n lang.

Even Yap decided to keep his silence regarding this matter and told the public that its up to his wife Kris if she wants to issue any statement regarding what they’re marriage is going through.

On Tuesday, Kris was set to go back to Don Vicente Rama Memorial School in Barangay Basak, Cebu City to participate in the “gift-giving” of school supplies but failed to come due to some marital problems according to her close friend Boy Abunda who also participated in the said event.

“They are not okay yet. So dito tayo nanggagaling. So, kagabi ‘yong narinig ko na nagkaroon ng problema na may kinalaman nga sa kanyang marriage ay hindi na ako nagtanong,” Abunda said.

MANILA, Philippines – After evading the issue for several months, John Lloyd Cruz has sat down with “The Buzz” host Boy Abunda to finally admit that Shaina Magdayao is his new girlfriend.

During his exclusive interview, the “You Changed My Life” lead star also confessed that he had a “very special relationship” with former beauty queen Ruffa Gutierrez, but he did not elaborate.

“Yes, it’s us,” Cruz briefly said when Abunda asked him to confirm rumors that he and Magdayao are now going steady.

The actor quickly clarified that, contrary to rumors, he was not the reason behind Magdayao and John Prats’ break-up.

According to him, at the height of the speculations, he and Prats had talked “man to man” about the issue. He said Prats merely brushed off the intrigue.

“Kasi ang nangyayari na noon parang naapektuhan na ‘yong reputation noong tao. She was being put in a bad light. Hindi naman ‘yon fair,” he said as he admitted that he initiated the conversation with Prats.

Cruz said Prats told him that he was okay and that he wanted to move on.


When asked, meanwhile, if his relationships with Gutierrez and Magdayao had “overlapped,” the actor answered in the negative.

“Nagkausap sila at nagkaayos na. So, tapos na,” he added.

He also categorically denied that he promised Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo that he would court her in 5 years. “That’s not true. Hindi mo ‘yon pinapangako sa isang babae… Hindi mo naman alam kung anong puwedeng mangyari…. Alam niya at alam ko ang katotohan.”

He also took offense to claims that he was a “womanizer” and that he was a “bad influence.”

The box office king lamented that the more he refused to address those issues, the more people speculated and took advantage of his silence. He cited, in particular, all the negative and “baseless” write-ups about him.

He said he decided to “come out once and for all” because people who matter to him were also getting affected by the issues.

“Maraming tao na ang nadadamay. Maraming tao ang nasasaktan… Hindi na nakakatuwa,” he said.

At this point in his life, Cruz said he has nothing to complain about. He said he wished the same happiness to his detractors.

There is this rumor from ABS-CBN Management that they would bring  to an end the successful team up of Kimerald. Is Kim Chiu ready to be separated from Gerald Anderson? The young actress admits that if this rumor was true, she’d feel sad. “Malungkot syempre kasi matagal yung pinagsamahan namin. Four yearskaming magka-love team. Instead of worrying about the rumored Kimerald split up, Kim focuses on her new project. “Sobrang excitedna ko… for Your Song. Magkasama kami ni Ms.Ai-Ai. Hindi s’ya drama. Sobrang light, comedy.
