Kapuso actress and hands-on mom Bettina Carlos seems to have no problems in her life – at least, that's what her Instagram posts try to portray.
On her Instagram feed, we can see her having fun with her daughter Ginny, her diligent exercise routines, and how active she is in her pastry business.
But the celebrity mom recently revealed that from June to September of 2016, she became severely ill.
"I was in and out of the hospital," she said. "For a series of blood works, checkups, and even biopsy – at one point the doctors considered the possibility of having me checked for the Big C."
‘The Big C’ referred to cancer, one of the most fatal diseases on the planet. According to Bettina, there were times when she couldn't stand up due to "countless lumps on the soles of [her] feet, and [she] had suspicious nodes on [her] left axilla (armpit)."
Bettina was so ill she could neither attend her tapings nor bake. According to her, she felt that the six nodes were like a "small tomato," and it scared her because her paternal grandmother had breast cancer.
She was seeing eight different doctors during that time and none of them were able to determine what was wrong with her, putting her in "much more agony."
"I cried silently at night with my daughter sleeping soundly in my arms, not knowing if I may already be afflicted by cancer then," she said.
Her visit to the immunologist was able to confirm her condition as "extra-pulmonary TB [despite my TB tests and histology revealing negative for TB and lupus]."
