Can you imagine waking up trapped inside a concrete box with no light? Back in olden times, it was quite possible to bury someone alive by accident.

It’s like a scene out of a horror movie or an urban legend.

Regrettably, that’s what happened to teenager Neysi Perez, a resident of La Entrada, western Honduras.

The terrifying viral video features a grieving family smashing their way into the mausoleum and prying open a wooden casket. They claimed to have heard 16-year-old Neysi inside banging against the coffin.

As reported by local TV news Primer Impacto, Ms. Perez fell unconscious after waking up one night to use the outside toilet at her home. When she was discovered, the pregnant teenager was foaming at the mouth. Her religious parents called the local priest believing she had become possessed by an evil spirit.

Apparently, Ms. Perez died during the priest’s exorcism. She was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead three hours later. She was buried in the wedding dress she wore at her recent wedding

A day after her wake, her husband Rudy Gonzales visited her grave at the La Entrada General Cemetery.

Supposedly, the husband heard muffled screams and banging from inside the concrete tomb.

Mr. Gozales recalled in an interview with local TV news Primer Impacto, "As I put my hand on her grave I could hear noises inside. I heard banging, then I heard her voice. She was screaming for help.

"It had already been a day since we buried her. I couldn't believe it. I was ecstatic, full of hope," he added.

According to Neysi’s relatives, they cleared away the concrete and discovered the glass viewing window on her coffin had been smashed. Her hands were covered in fresh bruises.

Unfortunately, despite medics’ best efforts to revive her, they found no signs of life and she was returned to the cemetery to be reburied.

Even cemetery worker Jesus Villanueva claimed he had heard noises coming from the grave, "I convinced myself that the screams were coming from somewhere else. I never imagined that there was someone alive in there.
