Kissing is known to be the universal and ultimate sign of affection among lovers. However, the act of kissing is also known to spread certain types of diseases.
In fact, a new type of virus is now spreading throughout Kenya. Students of Kisii University have been warned due to the outbreak of this new strand of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and are advised to refrain from kissing to stop the spread of the disease.
HPV is considered as the most common type of s*xually transmitted disease. It is commonly transferred through the sharing of bodily fluids.
The symptoms of this recent strand of HPV include a sore throat, severe headache, high fever, vomiting, and abdominal pains. It is slowly making its way into South Africa.
“We were told that public health officers from this area are working round the clock to know the root cause of this. But we are being advised, even on WhatsApp groups to avoid kissing and exchanging body fluids,” according to a third-year public health student from Kisii University.
”Please make sure this warning gets to your loved ones,” the student added.
