The planet we live in has been around for millions of years which is why it’s not surprising to come across a few ancient artifacts in your lifetime.
An Argentine farmer named Antonio Nievas was one of the lucky people on earth to come across a prehistoric piece arouind his property.
As he was strolling along his farm one day, he came across what appeared to be a gigantic egg. At first, he dismissed this to be a rock because of its appearance.
Due to its large size, Nievas mistakenly thought it was a dinosaur egg. He asked the help of some scientists for help who quickly came rushing to the scene.
According to the scientists, the egg did not belong to a dinosaur. Instead, they informed Nievas that it was the remains of the prehistoric animal, gliptodon.
Gliptodons existed many years ago and bears a few similarities with an armadillo. Unlik the armadillo, gliptodons can grow up to 3 meters in length.
The species became extinct during the Ice Age which occurred around 10,000 years ago.
Scietists were amazed by how well-preserved the egg is. They hope to use this in their future studies about the existence of this species.
