It’s hard to come across honest people these days. Most individuals are mean, materialistic, and selfish. In fact, a lot of people will take advantage of others whenever they get the chance to do so.
However, there are still a few good souls who would never do something to harm others. A perfect example is this security guard who has done a good deed to someone else.
Ronald Llaneta, from Atimonan, Quezon is a security guard at a popular mall in Makati City. As he was doing his rounds one day, he noticed a bag in one of the supermarket carts. The owner didn’t seem to be around so he checked the bag hoping to find any ID to identify who it belonged to.
Upon opening the bag, he didn’t see any identification cards. Instead, he saw a large sum of money, amounting to a whopping P500,000!
Unlike other people who would feel the urge to take home such a huge amount, the good Samaritan didn’t feel any desire to take it home with him. Instead, he surrendered the bag and its contents to the mall’s main office. Luckily, the mall officials were able to locate the owner and the bag was safely returned.
The owner thanked the guard and offered him a reward as a token for his good deed. However, Llaneta refused to take it. According to him, no reward should be given since he was only doing his job.
