Our parents are people that we want to be able to look up to. They’re supposed inspire us and shape what we would like to be when we grow up.
The short film ‘Gift’, directed by Daniel Yan, tells the story of a little boy who hated his poor and unsuccessful father. Little did he know that his father was actually “wealthy” as he found out right before his father passed away.
After his father died, the little boy found out about the many good deeds that his father performed while he was still alive. These kind acts included feeding the less fortunate and giving disabled and less fortunate children hope. He also kept working even when he could have retired.
This was truly a wealthy man who gave everything.

There will be times when you might not be too proud of your parents. However, we should not forget that we wouldn’t be here without them. We literally owe them our lives.
