Philippine show business is indeed filled with a lot of beautiful celebrities—with Liza Soberano bagging the second spot as one of the most beautiful faces in the world in a 2016 list, Kathryn Bernardo making it to the top 100, and most recently, Marian Rivera topping the ‘sexiest’ and ‘most beautiful’ woman in Asia according to Esquire Indonesia.
With our concept of beauty being somewhat limited, it is no wonder that some of them resemble other celebrities. Here’s a list of Filipino celebrities and their supposed ‘doppelgangers’.
1. Kathryn Bernardo and Nadine Lustre
The Star Magic actress and the Viva Artist talent indeed have a resemblance, probably in the shape of their face and their eyes. Kathryn, dubbed as the ‘teen queen’, is famous for her lead roles in top-grossing series such as Got To Believe and Pangako Sa’yo with loveteam and rumored beau Daniel Padilla. Nadine reached her stardom from her first big break Diary Ng Panget film, and starred in romance series On The Wings Of Love with on-screen partner and real-life boyfriend James Reid.
2. Glaiza de Castro and Angel Locsin
Glaiza is often mistakenly thought as Angel at first glance. Rumor has it that she got her fame because of her resemblance to Angel. Nonetheless, Glaiza also created a name for herself for portraying the antagonist of series Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Lahat Sa Akin and Stairway to Heaven. She also starred in the top-rated GMA series The Rich Man's Daughter. Angel is famous for her role as Darna and Alwina in the hit fantasy series Mulawin. In 2013, she won best actress in the FAMAS Award and Film Academy of the Philippines Award for her lead role in movie One More Try.
3. KC Concepcion and Jewel Mische
KC is the daughter of old flames and famous 80s loveteam Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion. She is currently the ambassadress of the United Nations' World Food Programme. Her last lead role was in 2015 in ABS-CBN’s Christmas Special Series, Give Love on Christmas with Paulo Avelino. Jewel rose to fame when was dubbed as the Ultimate Sweetheart on GMA-7's talent reality search StarStruck, which made her receive management contracts, endorsements, and scholarships. She got married with her American boyfriend Alister Kurzer in 2015, and they are now living in Michigan.
4. Bea Alonzo and Bella Padilla
Bea’s most famous role was Basha in the blockbuster hit romance drama film One More Chance with her former loveteam John Lloyd Cruz. She currently stars as Andrea in the soap A Love to Last with veteran young-looking actor Ian Veneracion. Bella is known as one of the lead roles of FPJ’s Ang Probinsiyano along with Coco Martin and Maja Salvador. Her latest independent film Luck At First Sight with actor Jericho Rosales just recently hit the cinemas and has received favorable reviews.
5. Jinkee Pacquiao and Stephany Stefanowitz
Jinkee is the wife of Manny Pacquiao and a former vice governor of Sarangani province. She retired from politics after her term to focus on family and business. Stephany is a model and beauty queen. She won the Miss Philippines Earth crown in 2012. In the same year, she bagged the Miss Earth Air award.
6. Bamboo and Chiz Escudero
Bamboo was the former frontman of 90s band Rivermaya, known for their famous songs "Kung Ayaw Mo Wag Mo" and "Ulan" with him on the vocals. In 2003, he formed a band under his name with former bandmate but called it quits in 2012. The band was popular with songs "Much Has Been Said" and "Masaya". He is currently one of the coaches of The Voice Philippines
Chiz Escudero currently chairs as a Senator in the Philippines. In 2016, he ran for vice president but lost the elections and placed fourth after conceding. He got married to actress Heart Evangelista in 2015.
7. Bianca Guidotti and BB Gandanghari
Bianca Guidotti is a model and title holder of Binibining Pilipinas International 2014. She graduated from Ateneo De Manila University with a degree in European Studies major in International Relations.
BB Gandanghari, or once popularly known as Rustom Padilla, is a Filipino transgender, actor, entertainer, and model. BB came from Padilla family, a clan famous for being manly. However, while inside the PBB house, he came out, which shocked the viewers.
8. Melai Cantiveros and Klarisse de Guzman
Melai was Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up’s big winner. In 2015, she also won the Philippine installment of Your Face Sounds Familiar. She currently hosts the morning talk show Magandang Buhay alongside with Karla Estrada and Jolina Magdangal.
Klarisse, or “Klang”, was the first-runner up of the first season of The Voice Philippines. She once competed with pop star Sarah Geronimo but didn’t make it. She took a break from singing contests and focused on her studies. She is currently taking up music production in De La Salle-College of St. Benilde.
9. John Prats and Robert Woods
John Prats is a member of ABS-CBN's circle of homegrown talents named Talent Center, now famously known as Star Magic. He became popular from teen shows "G-mik Trip" and "Berks", as well as movies My First Romance and Ang Tanging Ina. She married his longtime girlfriend Isabel Oli in 2015 and had their first daughter in 2016.
Robert Woods was a former housemate of reality show Pinoy Big Brother during its second season.
10. Andrea Torres and Ina Feleo
Andrea is an actress and commercial model. In December 2014, she became the cover of FHM Philippines and was voted number 2 in FHM Philippines’ 100 Sexiest in 2015 poll, and number 5 in 2016. poll.
Ina is an actress, writer, and figure skater. She earned her creative writing degree in Ateneo De Manila University. A member of Bayanihan Dance Company, she has represented the country in different parts of the world such as Spain, London, Berlin, Moscow, Malaysia, China, and many other places.
