People have different ways in honoring the dead. There are some who paint a portrait of their deceased love one in honor of their memory while others choose to visit their grave often in order to feel as if they are still there. One man though chose to plant trees in honor of his dead wife.
Janet and Winston Howe were known as a couple who are so in love with each other. The pair got hitched in 1962 until Janet died due to a heart attack in 1995.
Obviously, this broke Winston’s heart. However, he thought up of a way to make his wife’s memory live on. In order to cope with the loss, he turned his attention to farming. He planted thousands of oaks saplings in the six-acre field he owned in their home at Wickwar, Gloucestershire in order to commemorate his wife.
The neighbors thought nothing of it until an aerial view of the field revealed to them a heart-shaped symbol hiding behind the trees.

A hot air balloonist named Collet discovered the breath-taking view. She said: “I have my own balloon and am quite a regular flyer, but this was the most amazing sight I have ever seen from the sky. It was a perfect heart hidden away from view – you would not know it was there.”
Winston, who is now a 70-year-old man said:
“I came up with the idea of creating a heart in the clearing of the field after Janet died. I thought it was a great idea – it was a flash of inspiration – and I planted several thousand oak trees. Once it was completed we put a seat in the field, overlooking the hill near where she used to live.”
Winston also said that he sometimes goes in the middle of the field to reminisce the moments he had with his wife.
