Most parents work and have busy schedules, that's why they hire nannies to take care of their children left at home. Some household even employ caretakers to look after the house while the babysitter takes care of the kids. Of course, they should undergo background checks first. But you know what most people say, you’ll never really know unless you let them into your home.
A nanny and housekeeper, who seemed trustworthy at first, are now both facing jail time upon this discovery of their employers. To the parents' dismay, they found out that their helpers were abusing their one-year-old baby. The couple noticed the baby’s change in behavior after they hired a new nanny for her. The poor child kept on clinging to her mom’s arms and didn’t want to go near her babysitter.
This prompted the couple to install a camera to find out their employees' daily routines. When they checked the footage, they discovered their hired nanny and yaya’s wrongdoings. They immediately called the police to arrest Anna Margaret Laxamana Zamora (the yaya) and July Cantela Garcia (the housekeeper).
In the video, the two were caught making fun of the child by scaring her through a headless doll and ignoring her while they watched television. The baby was then seen crying in the corner as she banged her head on the couch several times.
This should serve as a lesson to all working parents out there, especially those who have tighter schedules and go home late at night. The abused baby was so young that it could affect his emotional well-being for life. An intensive background check should be prioritized.
What do you think are the proper charges that these two should receive? Share your opinions in the comments section below.
